We are committed to offering genuine designer pieces and take a considered, multi-layered approach to authentication — from sourcing through to our own review in New Zealand.

Our Authenticity Commitment

Every piece offered by Luxury Revamped is sourced through trusted international suppliers, established second-hand luxury goods traders and our professional sourcing network.

Our sourcing partners operate established authentication processes and, where applicable, have dedicated teams experienced in authenticating luxury designer goods.

However, we do not rely solely on our sourcing partners’ assessment.

Every piece is reviewed by Luxury Revamped before it is offered to you.

This additional review forms an important part of our commitment to authenticity and gives us the opportunity to assess the piece ourselves before it becomes part of our collection.

Sourced With Care

We work with established suppliers and trusted second-hand luxury goods traders who have experience sourcing and authenticating designer pieces.

Where available, we consider the provenance and sourcing history of a piece as part of our overall assessment.

Reviewed In-House

When a piece arrives with Luxury Revamped, we conduct our own authentication and quality review before it is offered for sale.

Depending on the brand and item, our review may consider:

• Materials and leather
• Craftsmanship and construction
• Stitching and finishing
• Hardware and hardware markings
• Logos, fonts and engraving
• Date codes, serial numbers or other identifiers where applicable
• Interior and exterior details
• Brand-specific construction characteristics
• Overall condition and consistency
• Accompanying inclusions where relevant

No single detail is treated as conclusive on its own. Authenticity is assessed by considering the characteristics of the piece as a whole.

Brand-Specific Assessment

Different luxury houses have different manufacturing techniques, materials, markings and identification systems.

Our authentication review therefore considers the characteristics relevant to the particular brand, model and era of the piece rather than applying a single checklist to every item.

Our Authenticity Guarantee

We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we sell.

If an item purchased from Luxury Revamped is subsequently proven to be inauthentic, supported by documented proof of authentication from a recognised, independent authentication service showing that the piece is not authentic, we will refund the purchase price in full. Original outbound shipping is not included in the refund.

To receive the refund, the piece must be returned in the same condition in which it was received. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping, which should be sent tracked with signature-required delivery.

Our guarantee does not limit or replace any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

What If You Have An Authenticity Concern?

If you have a genuine concern about the authenticity of a piece purchased from us, please contact Luxury Revamped as soon as possible.

We will ask for reasonable information about the concern and may request supporting documentation so that we can properly assess the matter.

Because authenticity is an objective assessment, a personal opinion, online comparison, social-media comment or informal assessment alone does not establish that an item is inauthentic. Where appropriate, we may request an assessment from a recognised, independent third-party authentication service experienced in authenticating the relevant luxury house and type of item.

Independent Authentication

Customers are welcome to obtain an independent authentication assessment at their own discretion.

If you would prefer, you may also ask us to arrange an assessment by a recognised third-party authenticator. This is done at the customer’s additional cost, which we will confirm with you before we proceed.

If a recognised and reputable independent authentication service confirms that a piece purchased from Luxury Revamped is inauthentic, we will review the documentation and, where the finding is substantiated, honour our authenticity guarantee in accordance with applicable New Zealand consumer law.

The authentication service should be independent, reputable and appropriately experienced with the relevant designer house and item.

While An Authentication Concern Is Being Reviewed

Any piece subject to an authenticity concern should be kept in the condition in which it was received. Please do not:

• alter or modify the item;
• repair or restore it;
• have hardware replaced;
• remove or add components;
• intentionally damage the piece; or
• materially change its condition.

This allows the item to be properly assessed and protects the integrity of any subsequent authentication process.

A Note On Vintage & Pre-Loved Pieces

Pre-loved luxury is not expected to look brand new.

Age, patina, variations in leather, changes in hardware finish, manufacturing differences and signs of previous ownership can all form part of a genuine vintage or pre-loved piece.

These characteristics should not, on their own, be interpreted as evidence of inauthenticity.

Our product descriptions and condition assessments are intended to help you understand the individual character and condition of each piece before purchasing. Condition is part of the story. Authenticity is non-negotiable.
